The 2025 Symposium brought together health services, community organisations and multicultural leaders to strengthen collaboration and create a more coordinated sexual health response across Greater Sydney.

Shaping future programs.
Participants shared stories, learned from each other, and created new ways to support the sexual health and wellbeing of multicultural communities.
Through presentations, storytelling and hands‑on workshops, attendees connected with one another joined the multicultural network and took part in building a more inclusive and effective sexual health system.
(2023) - Empowering CALD LGBTQI+ Voices: Achieving HIV and Sexual Health Equity

The 2023 Symposium showed why it is important to amplify multicultural LGBTQI+ voices to improve HIV and sexual health equity.
The event shared research insights, stories about migration and stigma, new ideas from the sector and a community‑led panel. These sessions helped people understand how culture and systems affect access to sexual health care.
Participants took part in storytelling, discussions, and shared learning. They worked together to build stronger partnerships and create more inclusive and equitable sexual health support for multicultural LGBTQI+ communities.
(2022) – Exploring the Sexual Health of CALD gay men

The 2022 Symposium focused on engaging multicultural communities to reduce HIV and STI rates among multicultural gay men and other MSM.
The program brought together researchers, sector leaders, and community members. They explored emerging data, migration‑related experiences, and challenges in accessing services.
Through strategic updates, case studies and hands‑on workshops, attendees worked together to identify barriers, build stronger partnerships, and co‑design practical actions that improve sexual health outcomes in multicultural communities.
(2019) - Engaging CALD Communities in driving down HIV and STI rates in CALD gay men and other CALD men who have sex with men (MSM)

The 2019 Symposium brought together Elders, researchers, frontline workers and multicultural community leaders. They met to build a stronger understanding of HIV and sexual health issues affecting multicultural gay men and other MSM.
Speakers shared insights from Aboriginal leaders, health research, migrant and refugee health experts and community programs. Their stories showed how different experiences shape people’s access to care and their overall wellbeing.
Through presentations, discussions, and shared learning, participants built stronger partnerships. They supported a more coordinated and culturally informed approach to improving sexual health for multicultural communities across NSW.
(2017) Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Gay Men Workforce Development Symposium
